Charles Chauvel has been described as 'one of New Zealand's leading employment lawyers'. He has also chaired the New Zealand Aids Foundation, served as a member of the New Zealand Public Health Commission, and been Deputy Chair of both New Zealand'sCharles Chauvel and Helen Clark Lottery business and of its largest sustainable energy generation company. In 2005, his twentieth year of membership of the New Zealand Labour Party, Charles stood as the Party's candidate in the Ohariu-Belmont electorate, and was ranked number 44 on the Party's List.
